Smile for Miles

The Hartley Cycle Challenge November 2026

Smile for Miles

We're riding in memory of Miles Jacob Valentine. Miles was born on 31 July 2024 with a genetic condition known as Williams Syndrome. Unfortunately, he passed away on 13 September 2024. He was loved by his parents, big sister and extended family and friends.

Miles never got to grow up and reach adulthood. Had he have managed to outlive his parents, as they had hoped for him, it's very likely he would have required support from an organisation like Hartley Lifecare to allow him to live his best life.

Unfortunately, he'll never get to ride the Hartley Cycle Challenge, either on his own or on the back of a tandem with his dad on the front. So, this year we are once again riding in honour of Miles and supporting an organisation that although will no longer have the opportunity to support him, support people like him and do amazing work in the Canberra community.

This team is filled with family and friends of Miles. I can't thank each member of the team, whether in the support vehicle or on a bike, enough. Thank you also to anyone who has donated to our team. Together we are remembering Miles and raising money for Hartley Lifecare. If you haven't donated please consider it. We accept all donations, great or small.
