Kokoda 2026
Saturday 16 May - Tuesday 26 May 2026

Take on the Kokoda Trail. Change lives through disability support.

Hartley is again organising a guided Kokoda Trail experience that will challenge you physically and mentally while raising vital funds to support people with disability in Canberra and the surrounding region.

The Kokoda Trail is one of the world’s most demanding endurance challenges. By taking it on with Hartley, your effort directly supports services that enable people with disability to live their best life.

Australia's number 1 bucket list adventure hike is known to be one of the toughest multi-day treks in the world.

On this adventure, you'll hike the arduous Kokoda Trail, following the heroic story of our Australian Soldiers in 1942.

On our Hartley Lifecare trek, you’ll be led by a recently retired soldier, who, with their own operational experience, is able to take you from a bush walk across Kokoda to an emotionally engaging, once in a lifetime experience that you’ll never forget.

What this means to you is not only are you with a highly trained and competent bushman, but you're with someone who can regale the stories of the war with an understanding of what it's like to be in a similar, yet slightly different circumstance. This is what makes our Hartley Lifecare trek so unique. You will hear the stories of the men who fought on Kokoda and with your guide, will see it through their combat lens.

Your trek will follow the same track our soldiers fought on 85-years ago. You will be in similar conditions, over the exact same mountains, and this is what makes this trek so unique. It's a pilgrimage that brings those who complete it, the greatest levels of respect from family and peers at home.

The Hartley Lifecare trek commences on Saturday 16 May 2026.

Challenge yourself and join us as you support AND raise money for Hartley Lifecare.

Costs:

The cost is $4,200 for the trek component. Airfares and porters are extra.

A minimum fundraising commitment of $5,000 for Hartley is also expected.
