Kokoda 2026

Supporting Hartley by trekking Kokoda in May 2026

Thank you for supporting Hartley Lifecare by sponsoring a walker taking on the Kokoda Trail in May 2026. Your support helps people with disability live their best life.

Hartley Lifecare is a Canberra-based not-for-profit organisation providing supported independent living, short term accommodation and respite care to people with disability across the ACT. We also operate an all-abilities, accessible hydrotherapy pool that supports mobility, wellbeing and independence.

Your donation helps Hartley deliver the everyday supports that make a real difference. This includes safe and well-maintained homes, accessible transport, short breaks and meaningful experiences such as outings and holidays. Donations also contribute to major infrastructure projects, including the complete rebuild of Hartley Court, a specialist disability accommodation for 10 Canberrans.

As a co-guardian for 2 beautiful young people needing support, I know first hand how important organisations like Hartley are.

Last year I did Kokoda with 5 weeks notice, and this year I want to do it justice with the right amount of training. I'd love to raise a great amount for Hartley, because Disability Support Service providers are disappearing because of our Federal and State Government's decisions to slash funding in ill-informed ways.

Hartley is a protagonist in the ACT and also Australia, as a Disability Support Service model. I hope that other providers look at their working structure and adopt or adapt to a similar way of surviving.

Kokoda is the hardest physical thing I've ever experienced - and I've done many physically and mentally challenging things in my life.

I'd love your support of any $$ for Hartley.

Many thanks
