Join Eric Thauvette, CEO, Hartley Lifecare and Andrew Kerec, Owner Manager, Renaissance Building & Design as they take on the formidable Kokoda Track in May 2025, all in the name of raising funds for Hartley Lifecare. This challenging journey will test you in more ways than you can plan for and also is a powerful way to support Hartley Lifecare's vital work.
Australia's number 1 bucket list adventure hike is known to be one of the toughest multi-day treks in the world. On this adventure you'll hike the arduous Kokoda Trail, following the heroic story of our Australian Soldiers in 1942. On our 100% Kokoda treks you'll be led by a current serving or recently retired soldier, who with their own operational experience is able to take you from a bush walk to an emotionally engaging, one in a lifetime experience that you will never forget.
The Hartley trek will depart Port Moresby on Friday 16 May 2025. Will you join us to challenge yourself AND raise money for Hartley Lifecare.
On our treks you will be led by a current or recently retired Australian Soldier, who themself has operational experience. What this means to you is not only are you with a highly trained and competent bushman/woman, but you're with someone who can regale the stories of the war with an understanding of what it's like to be in a similar, yet slightly different circumstance. This is what makes our treks so unique. You will hear the stories of the men who fought on Kokoda and with your guide, you will see it through their combat experienced lens. This is why we say at 100% Kokoda, you will see Kokoda through the eyes of the soldiers.
Our treks follow this journey, where you will walk the same track, in similar conditions and over the same mountains. At time you will be subjected to the elements, but this is what makes this trek not only so unique, but so demanded. It's almost a pilgrimage that bring those that complete it, great respect from family and peers at home.
Costs:
Until 30 April 2024 registration costs is $3,950.00. From 1 May the cost will be $4,300.00
Currently, there is a discount code "PIF10" which attracts 10% off the RRP when you pay in full at the time of booking. That is 10% off the current price which is $3950.00, this is only the trek and not the Personal Porter costs, which is an additional $750. The reason this cost is not part of the discount is the entire Personal Porter cost of $750 goes directly to the porter.
You would be expected to raise money for Hartley over and above your trek costs. It is envisioned to be at least $5,000.00 that you would raise for Hartley.
